Step 1

Paint your wood letter with Indigo chalk distressing paint and set aside to completely dry.
TIP: This will be your bottom layer and will be seen through cracks once your project is complete.

Step 2

Apply a thick coat of crackle medium over the chalk painted surface. For best results apply a thick coat and do not go back over the area. Let this completely dry.

Step 3

Now, paint a top layer of Porcelain chalk distressing paint to the wood letter.
TIP: Only apply one coat and do not go back over any painted area. If you do, likely the distressed crackled look will be diminished. Set aside to dry.

Step 4

Cut four long pieces of wire that will attach to the corners of the letter and eventually twist around the wreath foam.

Step 5

Find the middle of each wire and use a piece of felt to hot glue the wire to the back of the letter. The felt will work as a loop with the wire inside. Position your letter on the wreath and once you like the position, twist the wire ends around the wreath base.
TIP: If you choose to hang it outdoors, spray your wood letter with a sealant and hang in a covered area.
