Quality over Quantity.
I love the Cotman Windsor and Newton brand watercolor paints but I absolutely think that it is worth paying more for the higher grade Windsor and Newton professional grade paint. The color is much richer.

Quality over quantity.
I love Windsor and Newton paints but I have to admit that the Cotman student grade paint is no comparison to the professional grade paint. The price difference is substantial but the quality is without compare. I recently purchased the Cotman yellow watercolor paint and found it much thinner in quality of color than the straight Windsor and Newton higher quality yellow I had previously bought. I teach painting classes and buy supplies regularly and refer my students to buy paints and supplies from Michael's store. It pays to spend more on quality when you can afford it. Most times I can't afford to spend on the professional brands but when I do I really notice the difference. I am aware of the reason the paints cost more when more pigment is added to the pricier paints. I wait for the sales and coupons when I can.
