Measure to find the middle of the wood oval plaque, then draw a horizontal line across to separate the top and bottom halves.

Tint the top half with Walnut stain and a foam brush. Let dry.

Now, add a strip of painter’s tape along the top of the line drawn in Step 1 and press firmly. Paint the area below the tape solid black. Let dry.

TIP: Remove, or hide, the translated version you do not want to cut.

If needed, size to fit your surface.

Now, click ‘Make It’ in the upper right corner and then click ‘Continue’ in the lower right corner of your screen.

Place your sheet of vinyl, grid-side down, onto your cutting mat and load it into your Cricut® machine. Select ‘Vinyl’ as your material and follow the prompts to cut out your design. Once the machine has finished cutting, gently peel the vinyl away from your mat.

Use scissors to cut away the vinyl around your design. Next, use your weeder tool to peel away the remaining negative space surrounding the design. When you’re done, only the design itself should be left on the backer paper.

Cut a piece of transfer tape that’s just a bit larger than your design. Peel away the tape’s backer paper and place the tape, sticky-side down, over the cut-out design piece. Burnish the vinyl so that it’s completely stuck to the tape.

Now, gently peel the white backer paper from the design layer, which now should be stuck to the transfer tape.

Hold the transfer tape over the plaque to determine where you’d like it placed; then press it onto your plaque. Burnish the vinyl once more to make sure it’s completely stuck to the sign, then gently peel away the transfer tape.

Screw two screw eyes into the top of the sign, one near each end.

String 20 beads onto jute, then tie the jute onto the screw eyes. Tie a secure knot, then trim the ends.

Position a Fall floral pick at the top of the sign and hot glue it in place.
