taupe clay wall hanging
Step 1 |
Slice some clay from each block. Knead and condition until mouldable; then blend to get a beautiful taupe. |
Step 2 |
Use an acrylic roller (or a clay machine) to roll taupe clay into an even sheet. |
Step 3 |
Cut three oval shapes in different sizes. |
Step 4 |
Use the small stylus tool to create a hole in the top and bottom of the shapes. |
Step 5 |
Bake the shapes for 30 minutes at 265°F [130°C]. Remove from oven and set aside to cool. |
Step 6 |
Cut three 6" [15.2 cm] pieces of hemp cord. Fold one piece in half, thread through one of the holes in the largest oval then tie into a lark’s head knot. Add a Copper bead and tie the ends together in an overhand knot. |
Step 7 |
Thread another cord into the hole at the bottom of the largest oval, add three Copper beads, then thread into the Top of the middle size oval. Thread the ends through beads and tie the ends in a knot. Trim excess. |
Step 8 |
Repeat Step 7 at the bottom of the middle clay oval and the top of the small oval, but only add two beads. |
Step 9 |
Make a tassel with the cord. |
Step 10 |
Add a Copper bead to the tails from the top knot. Thread the tails through the hole at the bottom of the small oval and tie a knot in the back. Cut the bottom loops open and trim to even tassel strands. |
