summer to fall sunflower transitional wreath
Step 1 |
Overlap gingham ribbon over burlap ribbon and make a multi-loop bow. Your bow should have approximately seven 5½" loops. TIP: To make a multi-loop bow, you’ll work with the ribbon while it’s still on its spool. Start by measuring out a tail that’s about 9" long, then follow these steps: - Make a loop with about 11" of ribbon. Pinch and twist the ribbon after the first loop and make a second loop that’s the same size on the other side of the pinched area. This will become the center of your bow.- As you work, keep the bow’s center pinched between your finger and thumb. This makes it easier to hold the bow together as you add loops on each side. - Continue making loops on either side of the center, alternating sides, until you have a total of seven loops. - Twist a chenille pipe cleaner around the center to fasten it and use the excess to attach to your wreath. - Shape each of the bow’s loops. - Cut the ribbon from its spool but leave another 9" tail. - Keep the bow’s tails long (about 8" - 9") but trim their ends at an angle to avoid any fraying. |
Step 2 |
Cut apart the sunflower bush and place them around the wreath. |
Step 3 |
Cut apart the blue snowball bush and use them to fill in around your wreath. |
Step 4 |
Fill in areas as desired with the filler/greenery mixed bush. |
Step 5 |
Accent with dried lotus pods as desired. |
Step 6 |
Once you are happy with the placement of each floral element, glue them all into place. Share your project photos with #MakeItWithMichaels |
