summer ribbon décor garland
Step 1 |
Cut ribbon pieces for each style of ribbon at 16" [15.24 cm] and set aside. If you prefer your garland longer, you will need to cut more. |
Step 2 |
Cut a long piece of jute to be your main garland base. |
Step 3 |
Tie a lark’s head knot for each ribbon onto the jute base. To do this, simply fold the ribbon in half and place the folded area under the jute. Lift the two tails of ribbon and place them through the loop on the other side of the jute. Pull to tighten the knot. |
Step 4 |
Once all ribbons are attached to the jute, you will cut the ribbon tails into sections for a fuller and looser looking garland. Hold the tails and cut in half or thirds up to the jute. This will allow the knot to hold but create more volume. |
Step 5 |
Hang the garland and separate the ribbons as you desire. Trim the bottoms so all are even. |
