pom-pom birds
Step 1 |
To make your pom-pom bird, first wrap yarn around your hand 50 times. Cut the yarn from the skein, then slide the yarn off your hand without disrupting the loops. |
Step 2 |
Cut a piece of yarn and wrap it around the outside middle of the loops. Tie a knot, then cut open the loops on both sides. |
Step 3 |
Trim the ends so that you have a nice, round shape. |
Step 4 |
To make the legs, cut a piece of yarn about 8" [20 cm]. Wrap the length around the middle of the pom-pom, making sure the ends are even. Thread about five beads onto one end. Tie a triple knot at the end, large enough to keep the beads from sliding off. Repeat this on the other end of the yarn. Trim any excess yarn. |
Step 5 |
Wrap another length of yarn around the pom-pom to make a hanger. |
Step 6 |
Glue wiggle eyes to the front of the pom-pom. |
Step 7 |
Cut a small piece of orange chenille pipe cleaner, fold in half for a “beak” and glue onto the pom-pom. |
