nature clay impression pendant
Step 1 |
Cut about 1" [2.54 cm] from one end of clay. |
Step 2 |
Kneed clay until mouldable. Roll into a smooth sheet. |
Step 3 |
Lay your nature findings on top of clay and press to make an impression. Repeat around your sheet so you can make multiple tags to pendants at once. |
Step 4 |
Cut shapes for your tags with clay cutters in various sizes. |
Step 5 |
Use stylus to make a hole at the top of each tag. |
Step 6 |
Repeat Steps 2-5 with excess clay until you have cut all, or most, of your clay tags. |
Step 7 |
Place on a parchment paper lined metal cooking sheet and bake at 275°F [130°C] for 15 minutes per ¼" [ 0.64 cm] of thickness. Let cool. |
Step 8 |
If needed, sand and polish the edges of your tags. |
Step 9 |
Drop a small amount of each paint in your paint palette and dilute with water. |
Step 10 |
Paint your tags. Use paper towel to remove any unwanted paint and to create a “distressed” look on your tags. Let dry. |
Step 11 |
Cut a chain piece to desired size for your necklace. Add a jump ring to one end and a jump ring with a lobster clasp to the other end. |
Step 12 |
Add your pendant to the necklace with a jump ring. |
