Geodes for Stem
Only 2 geodes. No tools provided. Took two adults to complete, my son wasn’t able to interact with the project at all until it was cracked.

Hard to break, but they’re big and pretty. I wouldn’t say it’s for kids to break lol.

Fun
This was fun. Problem is it's very difficult to break the geode. Once you do it's interesting to see.

Sizes vary greatly (as can be expected!)
These are pretty much as expected. Note, however, that the two geodes can vary greatly in size - which is to be expected of samples that come from nature. If you're planning on two children sharing a set, though, the size variability could be upsetting for some. Still, it's a fun learning activity

Great for science project!
For older kids. My 5 and 3 yr olds liked it. But it was too quick of an activity for them.

Good Price for the amount
Even though one of our geodes wouldn't break, this was still a super fun activity to do.

Fun if it works!
Very hard to crack open as they were solid, not hollow, but at least crystallized inside. First tried with a hammer and chisel, but no luck. Did the "equator" chiseling around the whole thing over and over. Switched to a crowbar instead of a chisel while Dad held the geode steady with large, long handled pliers, and it still took several strong whacks with the hammer. Finally, success!

Great activity to spark new adventures
So good! This kit helped make a new rockhound out of my kindergartener. Exciting, safety was emphasized in directions. Hidden crystals inside the geodes were first rate! Did not disappoint!

Real rocks, real adult supervision too
``Real high quality geodes, I was very impressed. However one of them will take a stone saw to open.

Hot ticket item?
I bought this for a kids' raffle at my school. While I can't say how well it worked, I can that it had 10x more tickets than any other prize. So, it's definitely appealing to elementary school kids!
