mixed stone necklace
Step 1 |
Measure and cut about 24" [61 cm] of transite cord. |
Step 2 |
Tie one end of your cord onto one of the rings attached to your clasp in a secure knot. Add a dab of glue to the knot and set aside to dry. |
Step 3 |
To make your bead drop for the middle of your necklace, slide a small black bead onto a headpin. Bend the wire of the headpin in a 90° angle just above the bead. Grasp the headpin wire, about 3/8"-½" [0.3 cm-1.3 cm] from the bead, between the jaws of your round nose pliers. Rotate the pliers toward you, keeping a firm grip on the wire, until a small loop is formed. Trim excess wire. |
Step 4 |
Cut off the end of a second headpin and bend that end into a loop. Now, repeat Step 3 with a lava drum stone. |
Step 5 |
Attach the black bead drop from Step 3 to a loop on one end of your lava drum so it hangs from the bottom. |
Step 6 |
String your beads and stones onto your transite cord. Be sure to slide the top loop of your bead drop so it hangs in the middle of your necklace. |
Step 7 |
Tie the end of your cord to the other loop on your clasp just above the last strung bead. Tie in a secure knot and tuck ends into adjacent beads. Add glue and let dry. |
