Thin layers and vibrancy

Worth the buy!
I used this to seal acrylic paint on the back of a fish tank. The liquid was thick and there was little to no mess. I dried relatively quickly and I am so pleased with the results.

Liquitex Varnish Completes a Painting
This product, Liquitex Matte Varnish, should be applied to every acrylic painting, and oil paintings as well. It brings out the brilliance of every color and enhances any painting by giving it depth. I recommend two coats, the first to seal and unify the work, and the second to create chatoyance and a rich finish to any painting.

This one works for me.
I varnished a painting with a gloss finish and really didn't like the results, so I used the Matte finish varnish (2) coats over the gloss finish and was really happy with the results. Thumbs up with this one. (:

Decent matte varnish
This varnish is okay. I tried multiple brushes, including foam, and it left brush strokes on the canvas. Also, I used it on a ceramic coaster I painted and the paint kept smearing when I applied the varnish, even after letting it dry for days before applying varnish.

This will be absolutely flat. I mix it in with gloss to give a semi-satin finish.

Truly matte finish, but is it UV resistant?
This product is the most matte varnish I have tried. It went on easily, dried quickly but not so quickly that it left brush strokes or that puddles couldn't be blended out. The online write up says it protects against UV, but it doesn't say so on the bottle, so I crossed my fingers and hope my work is protected against sun damage and fading.

Great product
I had always used Liquitex gloss, which is also a great product, but for most of my artwork (acrylic) I had felt like it needed a matte look for my paintings to look the best they can. After using this matte varnish I am very happy with the look and the ease of application.

When you use it, wear rubber gloves if you will be touching that which you’ve painted. It’s excellent for a matte finish on any work.

If you follow the directions and use a thin coat with long strokes you should get a great result.

Liquitex Matte Varnish
Liquitex Matte Varnish is great if you don’t want much if any sheen on your artwork. If I do want a bit more of a gloss I mix Liquitex Matte Varnish with some Liquitex Satin Varnish. Perfect every time!
