glow spider web plaque
This wall sign will be a crowd pleaser this Halloween season. The shifting purple paint tones is the perfect backdrop to the glowing spider webs with an oversized spider!
Step 1 |
Paint the wood plaque black to establish a darker undertone and let dry. |
Step 2 |
Paint one or two coats of purple flash paint. Let dry between coats. |
Step 3 |
Use your cutting machine to cut out glow spider webs. |
Step 4 |
Click here for the design in Cricut® Design Space™. |
Step 5 |
If needed, size the design as you would like it to appear on your wood plaque. |
Step 6 |
Click ‘Make It’ in the upper right corner of your screen. |
Step 7 |
In your preview screen, check ‘Mirror’ in the left panel for each mat layer to reverse your image. |
Step 8 |
Now, click ‘Continue’ in the bottom right corner of your screen and choose the correct material. |
Step 9 |
Place the material shiny-side down, onto your cutting mat. Load the mat into your Cricut® machine, then press the blinking Cricut® icon to start cutting. |
Step 10 |
Use scissors to cut the design from the material roll. Next, use your weeder tool to remove all the excess material around and inside your design. You’ll be left with just the reversed design on the clear plastic carrier sheets, which are slightly sticky. |
Step 11 |
See instructions included to iron the design to the wood plaque. Make sure the paint is dried and cured for a day. Position the vinyl and iron according to the direction. |
Step 12 |
Hot glue a large spider to the plaque. |
Step 13 |
Tie a simple bow and glue it to the top of the plaque. |
