This bright and colourful Rainbow Bucket Hat made with Craftsmart® Value™ is a great project for all skill levels. Simple stitches and techniques allow you to have your own fun accessory in no time!

Print Project

Step 1

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: Circumference = 20” [50.8 cm] and Height = 7” [17.78 cm]
GAUGE: 14 sc and 16 rows = 4” [10.16 cm]; save time and check your gauge
SPECIAL STITCHES:
Magic Ring: Wrap yarn around your left middle finger twice, leaving a 6” [15.24 cm] tail. Insert hook under both strands and pull up a loop. Ch 1, and beg working directly into centre of ring. This ring can be tightened later by pulling on the yarn tail.
NOTES: The bucket hat is worked in a spiral. Do not join at the end of rounds. Use a removable stitch marker to mark the first st of the round, and move the marker up with each subsequent round.

With Fiesta, make Magic Ring.
Rnd 1: 6 sc in Magic Ring – 6 sc.
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around – 12 sc.
Rnd 3: *2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc; rep from * around – 18 sc.
Rnd 4: *2 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc; rep from * around – 24.
Rnd 5: *2 sc in next sc, sc in next 3 sc; rep from * around – 30 sc.
Rnd 6: *2 sc in next sc, sc in next 4 sc; rep from * around – 36 sc.
Rnd 7: *2 sc in next sc, sc n next 5 sc; rep from * around – 42 sc.
Rnd 8: *2 sc in next sc, sc in next 6 sc; rep from * around – 48 sc.
Rnd 9: *2 sc in next sc, sc in next 7 sc; rep from * around – 54 sc.
Rnd 10: *2 sc in next sc, sc in next 8 sc; rep from * around – 60 sc.
Rnd 11: *2 sc in next sc, sc in next 9 sc; rep from * around – 66 sc.
Cut Fiesta.
Join Bright Red.
Rnd 12: Sc in each sc around – 66 sc.
