They are lightweight, and easy to hold on to with a light grip. There is a gentle friction between the yarn loops and the knitting needle that minimizes the tendency for the work in progress to drop any stitches off the needle, but the work slides easily along the needle with gentle pressure. I recommend this product highly. The circular needles by the same company are also very pleasant to use.

Over the years, Takumi has started making the tips sharper which is really great for more "fiddly" stitches...and tighter knitters, like me!
