This was the top result. It turns out this IS water based, but I was on the last minute with my project so I used it anyway.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Glass Varnish That Shines I like this varnish in goss. I use this varnish when I design cases for smartphones and other devices. It has its advantages over spray clear coat. I currently use both the varnish and spray clear coat depending on the project design. I will try the matt varnish soon.

I made clay mushroom ornaments that have been on a tree outside through 3 new england winters with no fading or damage. I swear by this stuff! It keeps colors bright and the shine never fades.
