Use your Cricut® machine to create an amazing décor piece from basswood!

Print Project

Step 1

Click here for the design in Cricut® Design Space™.

Step 2

Now, cut the design from a sheet of basswood and iron-on material.
- In the preview screen, click the ‘Mirror’ feature in the left panel for the mat layer with the pattern to reverse your image, then click ‘Continue’ in the lower right corner.
- Place your basswood sheet onto your strong grip mat and knife blade + housing into clamp B.
TIP: Use masking tape to help secure the basswood to your strong grip cutting mat.
- Select your material then follow the prompts to cut from basswood. Check the cut before removing from your machine. If needed, run more cut passes, as directed on your screen.
- Carefully remove the basswood from the strong grip mat.
TIP: This material is extremely fragile so be very careful when removing from your mat.

Step 3

Cut the pattern from the iron-on material.
- Place material, shiny side down, on your standard grip mat.
- Select ‘Foil Iron-On’ as your material and follow the prompts to cut out your design.
- Once the machine has finished cutting, gently peel the material away from your mat.
- Use scissors to cut the pattern from the material roll. Next, use your weeder tool to remove all the excess material around and inside your design.
TIP: You’ll be left with just the reversed design on the clear plastic carrier sheet, which is slightly sticky.

Step 4

Preheat your EasyPress™ Mini to the middle setting.

Step 5

Line the patterns up across the bottom and side edges of the correct basswood shape and heat press. Let cool and slowly remove clear carrier sheet.

Step 6

Repeat Step 5 for the other shape and on the back of each shape.

Step 7

Slide the shape with the slit at the bottom middle into the shape with the slit in the top, middle to assemble. Arrange so it is in an “x” then place a LED votive candle onto of the stand.

Instructions
Step 1
