MICHAELS REWARDS PROGRAM TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully. These Terms and Conditions govern membership in the Michaels Rewards program.
- The Michaels Rewards program is sponsored by Michaels of Canada, ULC (“Michaels”, “we” or “us”), is valid in Canada only, and is open to legal residents of Canada who have reached the age of majority in the jurisdiction in which they reside.
- Benefits, rewards and rewards vouchers have no cash value and are not refundable or redeemable for cash or cash value.
- Become a Michaels Rewards member by signing up with your email address and phone number in store or online at canada.michaels.com/rewards. To participate in the program and receive program benefits, you will also need to have, or create, an online account on canada.michaels.com. To create an online account, you will additionally have to provide us your first and last name.
- When you create a canada.michaels.com account, a Michaels Rewards account will automatically be created for you with the same information. If you do not wish to create an account, or participate in the Michaels Rewards program, you may check out on transactions on our website as a guest.
- By becoming a member of the Michaels Rewards program, members:
- Consent to these Terms and Conditions, which we may change at any time and from time to time, as described in further detail under “Michaels Rewards Program Amendments” below.
- Agree to receive advertising, marketing materials and other communications from us. If you opt out of receiving marketing emails, you will continue to receive emails regarding your account and rewards status, but you will not receive emails communicating rewards offers. To enjoy all the benefits of the program, members must be opted in to receive marketing materials as offers will be communicated via email.
- Agree that membership, accounts, accrued benefits and rewards are not transferable nor assignable, not redeemable for cash, have no cash value, and are not for resale or auction.
- Understand the Michaels Rewards program may be terminated at any time without any further obligation to members. If the Michaels Rewards program is terminated, or if you or we terminate your participation in the Michaels Rewards program, all associated memberships, accounts, accrued benefits, vouchers, and rewards will expire and become void.
- Michaels Rewards program membership is open to individuals who are residents of Canada, have reached the age of majority in the jurisdiction in which they reside, and maintain a valid email address.
- Rewards will be earned only on transactions in Michaels stores in Canada, or online at canada.michaels.com.
- There is no fee for membership.
- Abuse of the Michaels Rewards program, including failure to follow program policies and procedures; the transfer, sale or barter of rewards, vouchers, or product, benefits or promotional offers; buying of products for resale; and any misrepresentation of fact or other improper conduct as determined by us in our sole judgment, may result in cancellation of the member’s account and future disqualification from program participation, and forfeiture of all benefits, Rewards and vouchers. In connection with the enforcement of any of the terms and conditions governing the Michaels Rewards program, we reserve the right to take appropriate legal action, as we deem necessary, and to recover damages, including without limitation attorneys’ fees and court costs.
- We reserve the right to interpret and apply the policies and procedures communicated in these terms and conditions. All determinations made by us shall be final and conclusive in each case. These terms and conditions supersede all previously published terms and conditions.
- Michaels Rewards members can view their account activity online at canada.michaels.com/buyertools/dashboard. For information about an individual account or any other program-related questions or information, or to cancel membership, contact Customer Relations by mail at: 3939 West John W. - We reserve the right to cancel an individual membership at any time, in our sole discretion.
EARNING REWARDS
- Red Tier – upon signing up for a Rewards account, all members will be in the Red Tier. Red Tier members will earn 3% in Rewards on eligible purchases every time they shop. For example, a Red Tier member will earn $3 in Rewards on an eligible purchase of $100.
- Gold Tier – members who have spent at least $300 but less than $1000 over the past 12 months as described below will be in the Gold Tier. Gold Tier members will earn 6% in Rewards on eligible purchases every time they shop. For example, a Gold Tier member will earn $6 in Rewards on an eligible purchase of $100. Gold Tier Members will receive additional benefits including everyday perks that provide discounts on certain purchases. These benefits are subject to the terms and conditions of the offer, and subject to change from time to time in our discretion.
- Platinum Tier – members who have spent $1000 or more over the past 12 months will be in the Platinum Tier. Platinum Tier members will earn 9% in Rewards on eligible purchases every time they shop. For example, a Platinum Tier member will earn $9 in Rewards on an eligible purchase of $100. Platinum Tier Members will receive additional benefits including everyday perks that provide higher discounts on certain purchases than Gold Tier Members. These benefits are subject to the terms and conditions of the offer, and subject to change from time to time in our discretion.
- A member’s qualification for Gold or Platinum Tier membership will be reviewed once a month and reflected in the member’s account. For the avoidance of doubt, if a member qualifies for the Gold Tier, the member’s account will still be reviewed monthly to determine if that member qualifies for the Platinum Tier. Once a member meets the spend amounts noted above and qualifies for a specific tier, that member will remain in their tier until the annual tier re-assessment in January of the following calendar year, as outlined below.
- In January of each year, a member’s spend over the prior 12 months will be reviewed to determine their tier status for the coming calendar year. After this initial tier status assessment each January, any member who has not earned Gold or Platinum Tier membership will continue to be assessed monthly for potential upgrades in their membership level as noted above.
- The Rewards you earn and the benefits that are offered to you are determined based on your tier status at the time of your qualifying purchase, or the time the specific benefit is offered. Neither Rewards nor benefits are assessed or offered on a retroactive basis.
- Rewards will be credited to your account for eligible purchases made when you give the email address or phone number associated with your account at check out. If you forget to do so, but already have an existing account, you have 14 days after the date of the eligible purchase to add that transaction. You can do that by logging in here and adding the transaction or visit our Contact Us page here. Rewards will typically post to a member’s account within 48 hours after purchase or date of shipment, for online orders. If a recent purchase does not appear within that time frame, members may visit our Contact Us page here.
- The maximum rewards a member can earn per day is limited to $150. Specific Michaels Rewards offers may include other caps on the total Rewards members may earn per transaction or day. Rewards earned will be rounded up to the next full cent following general rounding principles.
PURCHASES EXCLUDED FROM EARNING REWARDS
- Rewards cannot be earned on certain purchases:
- gift cards;
- extended warranties;
- purchases on other Michaels sites other than those explicitly included as participating in the Michaels Rewards program under these Terms;
- Purchases from Michaels outside of Canada;
- purchases made using a merchandise return card; or
- purchases prior to joining the program.
- Rewards are not earned on taxes and any shipping fees on a purchase.
- Purchases of clearance merchandise will also not earn rewards.
REDEEMING REWARDS
- For each $5 in Rewards earned, members will receive a $5 Rewards voucher. Rewards vouchers are typically issued within 72 hours once your Rewards balance reaches the $5 threshold. These vouchers will be automatically emailed to the member using the email address associated with the member’s Michaels Rewards account only upon accumulation of Rewards dollars in each $5 increment. For clarity, vouchers can be issued in any $5 increment, as further determined by Michaels. For example, if you have earned at least $10 in Rewards but less than $15 in Rewards, one $10 voucher may be sent rather than two $5 vouchers. The maximum total voucher amount issued to a single member at any one time is a $50 Rewards voucher. These vouchers, when issued, can also be found in the Michaels Rewards member’s online or app account.
- These vouchers may only be used on eligible products purchased in Canada stores or online at canada.michaels.com.
- There is a limit of redeeming a maximum of (a) 5 vouchers or (b) $50, per transaction. For certainty, in no circumstances can more than 5 vouchers be combined for use in a single transaction, nor can any number of vouchers be combined to obtain goods or services with a value over $50 in any single transaction. In no case may Reward vouchers be combined with any other vouchers or gift cards, whether issued through the Michaels Rewards program or otherwise, to pay, in whole or in part, for goods or services with a value exceeding $50.
- Vouchers are valid for 32 days from date of issue and expire at 11:59pm CST on the 32nd day. Prior to the voucher’s expiration date, members will be able to use their vouchers in multiple transactions until the balance is depleted, subject to the limitations on combining vouchers, and the total value of the goods and services redeemed using vouchers, above. For example, if a member uses a $5 Rewards voucher for a $3 purchase, the remaining $2 will stay on the Rewards voucher until the member depletes it on a subsequent purchase(s), but for no longer than 32 days from the date of issuance. For the avoidance of doubt, upon expiration of a voucher with any value remaining, that remaining value will also expire.
- Should a member neither earn any Rewards nor redeem any vouchers threshold for 12 consecutive months, the Rewards in the member’s account balance will expire. Prior to such expiry, we will provide you with a notice if required by applicable law, or at our discretion. For example, if a member has $3 in Rewards dollars earned in September 2026, and the member does not earn any further Rewards, or redeem any vouchers, in the following 12 months, the Rewards will expire and be removed from the member’s account in September 2027.
- Rewards vouchers are not redeemable for cash. Rewards vouchers may not be redeemed on the purchase of gift cards, extended warranties, or tax and shipping on any otherwise eligible purchase. Michaels Rewards members may be notified of additional ineligible products and services. Lost, stolen or expired Rewards vouchers will not be replaced.
- Members must be in good standing under the Michaels Rewards program Terms and Conditions at the time of Rewards voucher redemption.
- When redeeming your voucher, you must provide your Rewards account information.
- If you are making a return and already earned Rewards for the purchase, those Rewards will be deducted from your Rewards account. As a result, your Rewards account may reflect a negative balance. If you used a Rewards voucher, you will be issued a refund back to the original Rewards voucher(s), if that voucher has not expired, or in Rewards.
- Rewards members who have qualified for the Gold or Platinum Tiers will have certain everyday perks available to them as determined by us in our sole discretion, and which may be modified from time to time in accordance with these Terms. In order to access everyday perks, members must log in to their canada.michaels.com account, navigate to either the Savings or Rewards page and use the code provided there. Please note that your online account may be different from your Rewards account. You can contact Customer Care at 1-800-Michaels if you have questions about this process, or need help with your accounts.
REWARDS ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT
- Michaels will assign a Rewards account to each member who provides a unique associated phone number and email address.
- Only one Rewards account can be entered in the course of a transaction. There is a limit of one Rewards account per person.
- You are required to keep the information associated with your Rewards account accurate and up to date.
- If your phone number or email address has changed, please visit our Contact Us page here. Please see below for their contact information.
- If you do not update this information associated with your Michaels Rewards account, that phone number or email address cannot be associated with any new member account.
- If your current phone number and/or email address is already associated with another Michaels Rewards account, please visit our Contact Us page here.
- Note: updating your Rewards information does not update your online account. You can make those updates here.

MICHAELS REWARDS PROGRAM AMENDMENTS
- Michaels reserves the right, in our sole discretion, to modify or revise any element of the Michaels Rewards program or these Rewards Terms and Conditions at any time, including without limitation, eligibility for the program, the rate at which Rewards and vouchers are earned or redeemed, the existence, structure requirements, and benefits for any tier, and the manners in which Rewards and vouchers are earned or redeemed. For changes to essential elements of these Reward Terms and Conditions, where required by law, we will send you notice of such changes between 60 and 90 days before they take effect, and at least 30 days in advance of a change to any other element of the Terms and Conditions. Such notice will be drawn up clearly and legibly, setting out the new clause only, or the amended clause and the clause as it read formerly, and the date of the coming into force of the amendment.
- Your continued participation in the Michaels Rewards program after the effective date of such changed Rewards Terms and Conditions constitutes your acceptance of the revised Reward Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with any changes to the program or Reward Terms and Conditions, your sole remedy is to discontinue participation in the program(s) and terminate your Reward account.
- Without limiting the foregoing, we reserve the right to (among other things and subject to applicable law): add or remove earning actions or offers or modify the Rewards to be awarded; add, withdraw, limit, modify, or cancel any available Reward; alter the timelines on which Rewards, vouchers and/or accounts expire; increase or alter the requirements to receive a Reward or voucher; modify eligibility to participate in the program; and/or add, modify, or eliminate any other Program benefit.
- We further reserve the right to discontinue any or all elements of the Michaels Rewards program, to terminate your right to access or use the program, or any portion of thereof, and to block or prevent your future access to and use of the program. If the Michaels Rewards program is terminated, all Rewards and vouchers will be void.
GOVERNING LAW AND DISPUTE RESOLUTION
- The Michaels Rewards program, including these Terms and Conditions, is governed by and construed and enforced in accordance with laws of the Province of Ontario. and the applicable federal laws of Canada, without regard to the conflict of law rules or principles. Any dispute between the parties will be resolved in the provincial or federal courts located in Ontario.
- For Quebec residents, any dispute arising from these Terms and Conditions or your participation in the Michaels Rewards program will be governed by and construed and enforced in accordance with the laws of the Province of Quebec, and the applicable federal laws of Canada, without regard to conflict of law rules or principles. Any dispute between the parties will be resolved in the provincial or federal courts located in Quebec.
- For Quebec residents, any dispute arising from these Terms and Conditions or your participation in the Michaels Rewards program will be governed by and construed and enforced in accordance with the laws of the Province of Quebec, and the applicable federal laws of Canada, without regard to conflict of law rules or principles. Any dispute between the parties will be resolved in the provincial or federal courts located in Quebec.
GENERAL
- All dollar amounts in these Terms are in Canadian dollars.
- The information provided by each Michaels Rewards member will be handled according to our Privacy Policy, located at https://canada.michaels.com/your-privacy-rights.
- The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods shall have no applicability.
- If any provision or part of a provision of these Terms and Conditions is unlawful, void or unenforceable, that provision or part of the provision will be severed from these Terms and Conditions, and such occurrence will not affect the validity and enforceability of any remaining provisions.
