My second Big Shot
I had my first big shot in my classroom for 10 years before a student helper managed to jam it's so badly that it broke the little camshaft inside. since Siźzix doesn't carry internal parts, i have repaired the old one so that it can limp along, and have a new one right beside the old Big Shot and the Cricut. It is a real workhorse, cutting detailed dies in seconds, and making embossed background papers that really inspire me. There are some things one needs a cutting machine for, and many others that the Big shot does best.

Absolutely Love It!!
I was on the fence about investing in a die cutting machine as I am new to card making. I decided to dive in and ordered the Sizzix Big Shot Machine. I absolutely love it! It cuts shapes beautifully, It's easy to store as it doesn't take a lot of room. Great price as it was on sale when I ordered it so I have been enjoying using it and getting into card making. If you are on the fence, don't hesitate, this is a great machine especially if you're new to card making or paper crafting.

What a fun new toy!
I've been creating ATC and greeting cards for the past 4 years and have found it a very rewarding and fun hobby. A friend also involved in card making sent me a huge box of cut shapes in various colors to incorporate in my card designs. She also sent me several super ideas for designs for cards and has continued to inspire me all along. While I thought that having a die cutting/embossing machine would be great the cost of these items is more than I wanted to spend. However, while browsing the Michaels website recently I found the Big Shot on sale. I also had a generous gift card available, so jumped right on the order. The Big Shot came with a full set of cutting plates. After watching a couple of YouTube videos on the use of the machine I gave it a go! It's easy to use and does a great job. It's important to have quality dies for complete cutting, and the proper tools to release the paper from the dies. But it's all kinds of fun to see what you can do with the various dies found on the Michaels website as well as other. One of my dies didn't seem to cut well enough, so after experimenting a bit I found it handy to use one of the tiny fabric cutting mats as a base plate for the dies. That seems to have solved the problem by giving the die a little extra help while rolling through the machine. There are really so many things you can do with this machine!!
The embossing folders are super!! It makes such an interesting card to have a textured background and adds such a nice professional touch to your cards. There are endless designs and scenes to choose from and the problem is limiting all of your choices when ordering.
The ideas for using the Big Shot are limitless and enjoyable to explore. I highly recommend this item for any crafter of paper arts. You'll love it!
