Great for a while
This worked extremely well for the first several months. The piece that attaches to the vertical bar on the sewing machine (sorry I don't know its actual name) had been changed from plastic to metal - a vast improvement over the previous Singer even feed foot I had to replace because the plastic broke. Then today, as others have stated, the lever that moves the feed dogs gets stuck in the up position which of course causes the fabric layers to begin to bunch up. So disappointing. Not sure why that design was chosen over a 'fork' design that would stay attached to the machine part and thus have to keep moving in the correct position. Again, very disappointing, not to mention frustrating as now my sewing project has to wait.

Using the Singer Even Feed Foot
I was going to make a Shibumi sail for my son. He bought 4 yards of three different colors of rip stop fabric. This is thin and very slick- like trying to sew silk. This presser foot made it possible to sew the two layers of fabric with thin nylon thread ,with no problems. Without it - it would have puckered and
slid around. One of the best sewing purchases I have made in a long time. If you’re sewing thin fabrics - this is a must.

Could be great again!
I got the walking foot for quilting. At first I thought it was fantastic and then the bar that makes the feed dogs move started getting stuck when the needle goes up. I thought that I must have a faulty unit but I have now read many reviews of others having the same problem. Apparently it used to be a fork shape rather than a bar previously and that design would certainly avoid this problem. Hopefully Singer will take heed and change the design back. For now it is useless.

Fantastic Foot
This is everything I needed to deal with slippery textiles! The feed is so much more even than before. Would recommend to my granny. (If she were living).

Poor Design
I bought this brand new and within 10ft of stitching, the arm that controls the feed dogs began to get stuck in the up position, causing the dogs to not move. I tried oiling the spring a little with no better results. Now that I read the reviews I see it is a common problem. I am so disappointed that I wasted my money.

Singer Even Feed foot stuck up
I have used the even feed foot on several quilts and it has started to stick up and not move anymore. I was ready to buy a new one but seemed like several other people have the same issue. I wrapped a small piece of elastic string around the foot lever and around the needle screw to make it drop like it was supposed to and now it works great. Hopefully that tip will help other people with the same problem
