seed bead stitched hoops
Step 1 |
Thread a beading needle on a 48" [121.9 cm] length of bead thread. |
Step 2 |
Brick stitch 12 purple 6/0 beads across the bottom half of your metal circle. Leave a tail that is about 6" [15.24 cm] long. |
Step 3 |
Turn your work and add another brick stitch row with 17 Silver 8/0 seed beads. Work two beads in the first stitch from the previous row and then one bead in the next. Repeat this pattern across the row. |
Step 4 |
Turn your work and add third brick stitch row. This time work two in the second stitch from previous row, then one in each across. However, you will want to add two in the same stitch at the curve on both sides. |
Step 5 |
For the scallop row, add one Silver, one dark aqua and one more Silver 11/0 seed bead to your thread. Slide your needle up through the second bead. Pull taut for the first scallop. Run your needle down the third bead, add one Silver, one dark aqua and one more Silver 11/0 seed bead and go up through the fourth bead. Repeat scallops across row. |
Step 6 |
Weave your working thread through beads until you get next to your starting tail. Tie a knot. Weave the ends into adjacent beads and trim excess thread. |
Step 7 |
Add a dab of glue to the knot and the thread across the back that wraps around the metal circle. Let dry. |
Step 8 |
Carefully open the loop at the bottom of a fishhook earring, slide over the ring at the top, then close the loop. |
Step 9 |
Repeat Steps 1-8 for a second earring. |
