Sculpey® Model Air® Air Dry Modeling Clay is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 47.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from The awful change of clay quality . I'm afraid to buy clay online now, because they don't give any info where it was made. I'm looking for the one that was made in Holland. I'm tired of trying other formulas and brands and be disappointed with terrible quality that is just a wast of time, money and gives me frustration. The label says white and it appeared to be grey and useless. Please help me to get an old formula clay that is made in Holland!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Two Different Formulas - One works well... I own an art school and have been an avid user of this clay for the past several years. This past year, I have noticed that there are two different formulas for this clay being sold under the same packaging. One is super moist and a bright white. This is the one we all love to use. It sculpts well, dries without cracking or crumbling and smooths out without any issues. The other formula comes in the same exact outer package, but when opened, is wrapped in a piece of clear plastic, is an off white/kind of gray shade and has a completely different texture - grainy and dry and fiberous. When used for sculptures, it's difficult to smooth out because of the grainy texture, it ALWAYS cracks, crumbles and leaves projects a mess and unusable. My students have had beautiful sculptures destroyed because of the bad clay. (If you have used the Crayola brand air dry clay in the plastic container, it is the same as that one, which is horrible clay to use even with kids.) For the past year, I have been trying to figure this issue out. I thought it was where Michaels was purchasing the clay or the clay was old but after also purchasing it at several other stores, I noticed the same pattern, sometimes the clay would be the bright white moist clay we all learned to love and other times it would be the off white/gray shade with the grainy texture and anything made from it would crack and crumble as it dried. However, I recently solved the mystery and this is going to help whoever is reading this! Flip your package of clay over. Look to see where it was manufactured. If it says Holland - this is the good stuff. If it was made in Thailand - this is the bad formula. I am now returning every package ordered that comes from Thailand because every single one of them is the off white/gray shade and every single package from Holland is the bright white good clay. If enough of us stop buying the product from Thailand, hopefully, they will correct this issue because it is horrible and unusable. I will try to add photos to this from my phone in a few minutes.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Please bring back the old formula! I had been using this clay for making pawprints of animals that had to be put to sleep in our vet clinic. I can no longer use it; it simply will not work. Too bad. I really liked the old stuff.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The new formula is HORRIBLE I have no idea what they have done with this clay but it’s horrible. Every single one of my projects have completely broken costing time and money. I keep taking it back that one of the packages is just dried out but it’s not. It’s just what it is now. DO NOT BUY THIS product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New Formula is Horrible I have been using this clay for years, i think it was the best clay available, now is garbage, it was made in Holland before and was amazing, this "new formula" (cheap, useless thing) is made in Thailand. Make your own conclusions, QUALITY vs. PROFIT. They ruined my projetcs and i can't find nothing similar. So sad.
