fall inspired seed bead chevron bracelet stack
Step 1 |
First, thread your needle onto 60" [152.4 cm] of beading thread. |
Step 2 |
For this odd count peyote stitch, begin by stringing nine beads onto your thread. Slide the beads down to about 15" [38.1 cm] from the end. |
Step 3 |
To build row 3, pick up a bead with your needle. Now, skip the first bead (last bead added in Step 2) then run your needle through second bead. Pull thread taut and you will see this new bead lay parallel to the first bead of the first row. |
Step 4 |
Pick up a new bead, skip a bead, then run your needle through the next bead. Continue up your row. |
Step 5 |
To turn and start a new row, run your needle through the top bead of the first row then the top of bead of the second row and finally through the second to top bead of row one. Now, run your needle through the parallel bead in row three so your needle is exiting through the top of the bead. Work your needle back up through the top bead of row two, row one and down the top bead of row three. |
Step 6 |
Add a bead and run your needle down through the next bead sticking out from previous row. Repeat down the row. |
Step 7 |
Turn, add a bead and run through first bead sticking out from previous row. Repeat while you work up the row. |
Step 8 |
Continue building rows as you did in Steps 5-7 until you reach the desired length for your bracelet. |
Step 9 |
Work all excess thread through adjacent beads. |
Step 10 |
Add a small layer of glue to one end of your bracelet, then add a clamp clasp. Repeat on opposite end and let dry. |
Step 11 |
Add a jump ring to one end and a jump ring with a clasp to the other end. |
Step 12 |
For stretch bracelets, string beads onto a 10" [25.4 cm] length of stretch cord. Tie a secure surgeon’s knot and add a dab of glue to the knot. Let dry and trim ends. |
Step 13 |
Cut a piece of chain down to fit wrist and add a clasp. Share your project photos with #MakeItWithMichaels |
