brick stitch windowpane pendant or earrings
Step 1 |
Cut 50" [127 cm] of beading thread. Leaving a 10" [25 cm] tail, tie a double knot onto the frame at the top edge of the large, bottom beam of the frame. Pick up one S8A. Slide it down over the knot and pull the threads apart to tighten. [Pick up one S8A and needle under the frame and then back over the front, going back through the S8A.] 16 times, for a total of 17 S8A on the frame. |
Step 2 |
Pick up two S8A. Go under the first thread bridge and come up through the second S8A added. [Pick up one S8A, needle under the next thread bridge and come back up through the S8A] 19 times, for a total of 21 S8A in this row. |
Step 3 |
Pick up (16) S8A, [one S8B, one S8A, one S8B], eight S8A, [one S8B, one S8A, one S8B], eight S8A, [one S8B, one S8A, one S8B], and 16 S8A. Go through the last S8A on the other side of the frame. Turn and go through the next S8A. |
Step 4 |
Referring to the following pattern for the counts, continue to run strands of beads from one S8A bead to the corresponding other side bead, turning into the next S8A after each. |
Step 5 |
Weave in tail threads by following the thread path through several beads then trim under tension using scissors. Use chain nose pliers to attach an ear wire to the jump ring. |
