amazonite leather wrap bracelet
Step 1 |
First, make the agate centre stone a connector to attach the two sides of your wrap bracelet. To do this, cut the head off the end of a 3" [7.62 cm] headpin with your wire cutters. Grasp the wire about 1"-1½" [2.54 cm - 3.81 cm] from one end with round nose pliers. |
Step 2 |
With your free hand (or chain nose pliers), grasp the top of the wire and bring it down, wrap it around the barrel, then, horizontally, across the wire below your pliers to a 90° angle. |
Step 3 |
Now, reach around and grab the horizontal wire and wrap it around the vertical wire two times. Trim any excess wire. |
Step 4 |
Make another loop on the other side. Grasp the wire about 1" - 1½" [2.54 cm - 3.81 cm] above the stone and repeat Steps 2-3. Trim the wire and add a dab of glue around the hole to secure the wire. |
Step 5 |
Attach an 8mm jump ring the loop on each side of the centre stone. |
Step 6 |
Cut a 24" [60.96 cm] length of round leather. |
Step 7 |
Slide one end of the leather piece through the jump ring on one side of the centre stone. Move it so one end is about 2" [5.08 cm] longer than the other. |
Step 8 |
Take longer side and wrap it loosely around the shorter side about three times at the top. Thread the end through the loops, in the back, from the top. Now. work the loops until the loops are tight around both leather pieces that are hanging doe from the wraps. |
Step 9 |
Cut a piece of transite that is about 60" [152.4 cm] long. Tie one end onto the left leather strand just below the loops. |
Step 10 |
Slide a bead onto the transite. Move it over the left leather strand and nestle in between the two leather strands. |
Step 11 |
Wrap the transite around the right leather strand, from underneath, and thread it back through the bead to secure it in place. |
Step 12 |
Now, wrap the transite around the left leather strand, from underneath and round the outside. |
Step 13 |
Repeat Steps 10-12. Continue in this pattern until you have about 8" [20.32 cm] from the top of the knot to the last bead. Tie the transite around the leather and tuck in into a bead. |
Step 14 |
Tie an overhand knot in the end of the leather. Trim ends as needed. |
Step 15 |
Cut a piece of round leather that is about 36" [91.44 cm] long. |
Step 16 |
Repeat Steps 7-8 on the other side of the centre stone. |
Step 17 |
Continue in the beading technique until you have about 11" [27.94 cm] from the top of the knot to the last bead. Tie the transite around the leather and tuck in into a bead. |
Step 18 |
Tie an overhand knot in the end of the leather. |
Step 19 |
Tie a second overhand knot about 1" [2.54 cm] from the last knot. Trim ends as needed. |
