Brand new package was completely dried out
I purchased a container of this in yellow a couple of months ago. I didn't end up needing it and never opened it. Today I opened it only to find it was rock hard and dried out. The best by date isn't up for more than a year from now, so it wasn't old or expired. The packaging isn't sufficient to keep the fondant from drying out. I will not purchase again. Stick with brands that use the silver foil look packaging, and use a vacuum sealer to store leftover fondant.

Disgusting and expired
I was trying to save time and instead of making fondant I just bought these as I thought the color and ease would help. As other reviews stated, these are disgusting. Not only incredibly difficult to work with, they taste horrible. I actually sick from it. Once I looked at the expiration date, it was expired. I bought this in January of 2022 and they still had old food products out. They weren’t in the clearance section by the way so it’s a bit of the brand and also not trusting things by Michael’s at this point.

Don't buy
The container has half of the amount it supposed to have, it is super sticky, very hard to work with. I won't buy again, very disappointed

Surprised by the negative reviews
I never write reviews, but given how bad the reviews are I thought I'd share my experience and give some tips. I have used Wilton fondant and homemade fondant in the past, but this time I needed multiple colors and didn't want to mess around with trying to color white fondant myself.
First off, yes, this is very firm out of the package. What I did (which I do with all fondant I've ever used) is to warm it in the microwave briefly (10-15 sec) and then grease my hands with shortening before kneading it. It becomes very easy to work with at this point. I used it with a fondant mold to make decorations for my daughter's mermaid cake. I made sure to grease the mold well with shortening as well. It came out perfectly.

Color is off
I bought this because I needed a deep purple. It was not anywhere near the color on the outside of the box. I had to add more dye. It was a total waste of my money, I should have dyed the white I had at home. Other times it's been dried out. Please discontinue carrying this brand and find another company that sells the small packs of colored fondant. I will not ever buy it again.

First Time Fondant User
I was surprised to see so many negative comments. Let me start by saying I am not a cake decorator at all. I set a goal to make some simple with flowers and had been successful with polymer clay. So I gave this a shot as it seemed it would be similar texture. Sure enough it worked and I did a nice job with this product. The white container I bought was firm but pliable especially after some light kneading in my palm. I would definitely buy this again. I also taste a bit since I’ve heard fondant is not very good and this one was not bad. I’m just glad I didn’t read reviews before I gave this a shot because it performed exactly like I needed it to.

Not what I expected
This was my first time using fondant. When I opened the product it was hard as a rock. When I started working it in my hands it softened but then started turning very sticky. Was not easy to mold in to shapes unless you made a ball. Not sure I'd buy this product again.
