Crazy Shedding
The colors and textures of this yarn are out of this world, so I took a risk even thought it seemed like it'll shed. I mostly knit at night, so I thought there was little to no shedding. However, when I was almost done with the project and looked at my clothes and working space in daylight, there was micro shedding covering EVERY INCH. I also noticed mild congestion from others in my household--probably from the micro shedding the throw I made was leaving behind. I even worked with un-spun roving before, and it wasn't this bad. Roving is natural and you can see where the fibers shed. What makes Homespun yarn so plush is the ultra thin micro fibers, but that's what makes this yarn unusable for me. They're like synthetic, invisible, ghost fibers that unrelentingly clings to anything it touches--every hair on your body to finished wood surfaces...I can't see how this will be good for anyone's respiratory system. It was so bad it made me wonder if there is some kind of manufacturing regulation for wearable yarn/fibers. Even after a couple of washes and dry cycles, it's just as bad. I got rid of it. Bernat sometimes has boucle style of yarn like this--not as soft, but doesn't shed like this and will not. destroy the respiratory system. Lesson I learned was one can't have everything :/

My go to for a quick project
Anytime I need a throw in less than a week, I go to Homespun Thick and Quick. It's not your normal yarn where your tension makes even distinguishable stitches. I tell people that are frustrated with it to stitch by feel. I have found the Corner to Corner stitch works best whether it be a scarf or a throw.

Soft and luxurious
