Print Project
hanging macramé herb garden
Step 1 |
Cut four 48” [121.9 cm] pieces of twine. Fold in half. |
Step 2 |
Thread the fold through a wood bead and pull until you have the fold plus about 1” [2.5 cm] is extending from the top. |
Step 3 |
Separate the strands. Take two strands that are parallel and, while holding them together, tie them in an overhand knot about 5” [12.7 cm] below the wood bead. Repeat with the remaining strands so you have four knots around the strands. |
Step 4 |
Now, separate the strands and group the right strand from one knot with the left strand from the next knot (to it’s right). While holding them together, tie them in an overhand knot about 2” [5 cm] below the above knots. Repeat with the remaining strands so you have four knots around the strands. |
Step 5 |
Separate the strands again and repeat Step 4. |
Step 6 |
At about 2” [5 cm] from the last knots, hold all strands together and tie in one large overhand knot. |
Step 7 |
To make the middle length, cut four 56” [142.2 cm] strands of twine, fold in half and add a wood bead. At about 7” [17.8 cm] below the wood bead, repeat Steps 3-6 to complete your second hanging macramé. |
Step 8 |
To make the longer length, cut four 68” [172.7 cm] strands of twine, fold in half and add a wood bead. At about 9” [22.9 cm] below the wood bead, repeat Steps 3-6 to complete your third hanging macramé. |
Step 9 |
Add dirt and plant desired herbs inside the Mason jars. |
Step 10 |
Slide your Mason jars into your macramé and hang. |
Step 11 |
Trim the ends as desired. |
