Step 1

Apply neutral base-coat paint to the entire dresser. Let dry.
TIP: Start with a well cleaned surface. Use a degreasing agent and de-gloss (if shiny) by buffing the surface lightly with steel wool.

Step 2

Apply Unicorn Spit® in Zia Teal to the entire dresser. Let dry.

Step 3

On the outer edges of the drawers, top, and sides, add Unicorn Spit® in Blue Thunder. Then add Unicorn Spit® in Navajo Jewel to the areas not covered with Blue Thunder. Blend the two with a dry brush until satisfied.

Step 4

Apply Lemon Kiss Unicorn Spit® to the sides of the dresser (using a small palette knife simply drag the gel down).
TIP: Clean off the palette knife after each use to prevent mixing.

Step 5

Apply Unicorn Spit® in Pixie Punk Pink, White Ning, Blue Thunder, Purple Hill Majesty and Phoenix Fire using the same method.
TIP: Try something fun! Load up your palette knife with your favourite colours and “toss it” on the dresser.

Step 6

Spray the dresser top with water where you see the heaviest concentration of Unicorn Spit®.
TIP: This allows the stain to become diluted and drip down the sides. The drip markings are intended to stay to give the dresser an unfinished look.

Step 7

Add all of the Unicorn Spit® gels (Zia, Lemon Kiss, Pixie Punk Pink, White Ning, Blue Thunder, Purple Hill Majesty and Phoenix Fire) with a brush or palette knife to the Legs. Do not spray these sections.

Step 8

Apply all of the Unicorn Spit® gels (Zia, Lemon Kiss, Pixie Punk Pink, White Ning, Blue Thunder, Purple Hill Majesty and Phoenix Fire) with a palette knife to the drawer fronts. Use the knife to remove some of the base coat to give it a chipped looked.

Step 9

Blend around the edges with a dry brush and a tiny spritz of water.
TIP: Again, the drip marks are intentional.

Step 10

Apply a non-water-based clear coat. Allow to cure according to the manufacturer’s directions. Repeat coating/sealer application if desired.
TIP: Decoupage a heavy-duty wrapping paper on the insides of the drawers!
