plaid christmas gift card holder
| Step 1 |
First, cut the bottom of the cardstock for the box to 5½" x 6" [13.97 cm x 15.24 cm], then score and fold it in half to 5½" x 3" [13.97 cm x 7.62 cm]. Adhere the sides closed, but leave the top open. Set aside. |
| Step 2 |
Cut a piece of cardstock to make the insert that will hold the gift card to 4¾" x 3½" [12 cm x 8.9 cm]. Lay the gift card in the middle and make a light pencil mark about ¼" [0.64 cm] in and down from each corner. Now connect the marks at each corner and cut a slit with the craft knife so that you can insert the gift card into the holder. |

To make the top of the box, cut a piece of cardstock 6" x 3" [15.24 cm x 7.62 cm], then score and fold it in half to 6" x 1½" [15.24 cm x 3.8 cm]. Slide the insert about ¼" [0.64 cm] in and adhere the insert into the top, middle. Make sure this piece will slide into the bottom piece of the box. |
| Step 4 |
Embellish the box with washi tape, stickers and a jute bow. |
| Step 5 |
Make a tag from kraft cardstock, punch a hole and slide it onto the bow. Adhere it in place with adhesive. |
