Print Project

crown knot macramé earrings
Step 1 |
Measure and cut two 16" [40.6 cm] from your macramé cord. |
Step 2 |
Lay them out on your working surface where one cord is vertical and the other is horizontal. They should crisscross in the middle with the horizontal on top at the intersection. |
Step 3 |
Fold the vertical cord in half by moving the top end down to be parallel with the bottom. |
Step 4 |
Now, take the bottom cord end and move it to the top. You should have two “loops” in the middle of the vertical cord with the horizontal lacing middle laying inside the loops. |
Step 5 |
Take the right end of the horizontal cord over the right loop and through the left loop of the vertical cord and set it on the left side. Repeat with the other end going over the left loop and through the right loop. |
Step 6 |
Carefully, tighten each end so you have an over-under square pattern in the middle. |
Step 7 |
Repeat Steps 3-6 three more times, for a total of four crown knots. |
Step 8 |
Wrap one of the cord ends around the other cord, one time, just below the last crown knot. Use a yarn needle to tuck the cord end behind the wrapped cord. |
Step 9 |
Use a macramé comb to separate the threads of the cord and blend them together into a tassel. |
Step 10 |
Open a jump ring, slide it through the two cords that crisscross at the top of your crown knot earring, add the loop at the bottom of a fishhook earring and close the jump ring. |
Step 11 |
Repeat Steps 1-10 for a second earring. |
