Print Project
layered semi-precious stone leather necklace
Step 1 |
Cut three 12" [30.5 cm] lengths of stringing wire. |
Step 2 |
Thread beads onto each wire as desired in layering lengths. |
Step 3 |
Add a crimp bead to one end of the shortest beaded wire strand. Wrap the wire around a Gold loop and then thread the end back through the crimp bead. Add a dab of glue into the crimp bead and squeeze it with your pliers. Tuck the excess wire into the beads closest to that end. |
Step 4 |
Now, pull other end of the wire taut, but not tight, so the wire can move, but cannot been seen between the beads. Repeat Step 3 for the other end. |
Step 5 |
Repeat Steps 3-4 for the middle and longest length of beaded wire strands. Let the glue dry. |
Step 6 |
Measure and cut two 24" [61 cm] lengths of deerskin leather lace. |
Step 7 |
Fold one of the leather pieces in half. Thread the fold of the leather through the Gold loop. Grab the ends of the leather, bring them up and over the loop, then through the fold of the leather. Pull and tighten the knot and repeat with the second leather piece on the loop on the other side. |
Step 8 |
Tie the leather ends in an overhand knot and trim them so they are even. Share your project photos with #MakeItWithMichaels |
