Step 1

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: Length to point = 19” [48cm] and Circumference = 32” [81cm]
GAUGE: 14 dc x 7 rows = 4” [10cm]; save time and check your gauge

Step 2

INSTRUCTIONS:
Row 1: Ch 4, (ch 1, dc) 4 times in the 1st ch, turn – 5 dc, 4 ch-1 sps.
Row 2 (RS): Ch 3 (counts as dc here and throughout), dc in 1st dc, dc in ch-1 sp, dc in next dc, dc in next ch-1 sp, 3 dc in next dc, placing a marker in the centre dc, dc in next ch-1 sp, dc in next dc, dc in next ch-1 sp, dc in 4th ch of beg-ch, turn – 13 dc.
Row 3: Ch 5 (counts as dc, ch 2, here and throughout), dc in next dc, [ch 1, sk 1 dc, dc in next dc] across to marker, ch 2, dc in marked dc moving marker to new dc, ch 2, dc in next dc, [ch 1, sk 1 dc, dc in next dc] across to beg-ch, ch 2, dc in 3rd ch of beg ch-3, turn – 4 ch-2 sps.

Row 26 (RS): Ch 3, sk 1st ch-1 sp, dc in next dc, [dc in ch-1 sp, dc in next dc] across to ch-2 sp, 2 dc in ch-2 sp, 3 dc in next dc moving marker to centre dc, 2 dc in ch-2 sp, dc in next dc, [dc in ch-1 sp, dc in next dc] across to the last ch-1 sp, sk last ch-1 sp, dc in 3rd ch of beg ch-3, do not turn.
Fold cowl, bringing the short, 4-row, ends together. Ch 1, and sc across to join back of cowl, turn and work 1 round of sc evenly around the top edge of the cowl. Fasten off.
Tassel
Step 1 Wrap yarn around 2" (5 cm) length of cardboard 5 times. 
Step 2 Tie 6" (15 cm) length around all the wraps at one edge of cardboard.
Step 3 Cut wraps at opposite edge of cardboard.
Step 4 Wrap 18” (46 cm) length around Tassel several times about ½” (1.2 cm) below tie.
Step 5 Fasten off and hide ends. Trim Tassel to 1½” (3.8cm).
Attach tassel to point at centre front.

Finishing: Weave in ends.
