Print Project

valentine's day card pocket door décor
Step 1 |
Pre-cut colourful heart-shaped pocket backs for each student using a full 8½" x 11" [21.59 cm x 27.94 cm] sheet of cardstock. Fold one sheet in half and cut half a heart using as much of the paper as possible. |
Step 2 |
Repeat Step 1 with white cardstock but cut these hearts slightly smaller to create the front pocket while leaving a highlight of colour to pop from the back. |
Step 3 |
Have each student decorate their heart and be sure they write their name on the front. |
Step 4 |
Run a glue stick along the perimeter of the bottom half of the white heart; then attach it to the colourful heart of their choice to create the pocket. |
Step 5 |
Cover your classroom door with the black fadeless paper. |
Step 6 |
Glue the ends of ribbon across the door to create holders for the hearts. Space each row about 12" [30.48 cm] apart with three hearts per row. |
Step 7 |
Use two clothespins per pocket to hang each heart pocket on the line. |
Step 8 |
Use chalk to add a sentiment and drawings on the door for a finished, whimsical look. |
