Step 1

MEASUREMENTS: Approx. 50" x 56" [127 x 142 cm]

GAUGE: 12 sc and 14 rows = 4" [10 cm]

SPECIAL STITCH(ES) EXPLANATION(S):

  • Dc2tog (Double Crochet Next 2 Stitches Together): (Yoh and draw up a loop in next stitch) twice. Yoh and draw through all loops on hook.

Step 2

INSTRUCTIONS: 

Ch 142.

Row 1: (RS). 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook. *Ch 1. Skip next ch. 1 sc in next ch. Rep from * to end of ch. Turn. 141 sts.

Row 2: Ch 1. 1 sc in first sc. *1 sc in next ch-1 sp. Ch 1. Skip next sc. Rep from * to last 2 sts. 1 sc in next ch-1 sp. 1 sc in last sc. Turn.

Row 3: Ch 1. 1 sc in first sc. *Ch 1. Skip next sc. 1 sc in next ch-1 sp. Rep from * to last 2 sc. Ch 1. Skip next sc. 1 sc in last sc. Turn.
Rep last 2 rows until work from beg measures 53" [134.5 cm], ending on a 2nd row. Do not turn.


Work 1 sc in corner. Work 157 sc down long edge of Blanket. Work 1 sc in corner. Work 1 sc in each st along bottom.

Work 1 sc in corner. Work 157 up long edge of the blanket. Work 1 sc in corner. Work 1 sc in each st along top. Join with sl st to first sc. Fasten off.


Step 3

Border: With RS facing, join yarn with sl st 2 sts to left of top right corner st. 

Rnd 1: Ch 1. 1 sc in first sc. 1 sc in each of next 3 sc. *1 sc in next st. (1 sc. Ch 5. 1 sc) in next st. 1 sc in each of next 6 sts. Rep from * to next corner st. (1 sc. Ch 5. 1 sc) in corner st. 1 sc in each of next 5 sts. Rep from * around, omitting last 4 sts in final rep. Join with sl st to first sc.

Rnd 2: **Ch 2. Dc2tog all in next sc. Ch 2. Sl st in next st. *(5 dc. Ch 3. 5 dc) in next ch-5 sp. Skip 3 sc. Sl st in next st. Ch 2. Dc2tog all in next st. Ch 2. Sl st in next sc. Rep from * to 2 sts before corner ch-5 sp. (5 dc. Ch 3. 5 dc) in corner ch-5 sp. Skip next 2 sc. Sl st in next st. Rep from ** around. Join with sl st to first st. Fasten off.
