Print Project
bbq tool holder, grillin' & chillin'
Step 1 |
We’ve already created a pattern to make this project even easier for you! Just download it from michaels.com, then choose the “tile format” or “tiling” option in your printer interface so that the pattern prints out at full size. |
Step 2 |
Next, position your pattern so that it’s in the centre on top of the round plaque. Then, slide a piece of transfer paper underneath, making sure the graphite side is facing down. Now you can tape the pattern in place on the plaque. |
Step 3 |
Use your pencil to trace around all of the letters. Press down firmly to make your graphite lines nice and dark. When you’re done tracing, you can remove the pattern and graphite paper. |
Step 4 |
It’s time to paint your letters! Squirt a little of each colour onto your paper plate (or palette paper) and then paint in each letter. Let the paint dry. |
Step 5 |
It’s time to place your cup hooks below your painted words. Take a minute to decide exactly where you’d like them to go, then screw each one tightly into the plaque. |
Step 6 |
Now that your cup hooks are in place, you’ll see that their ends stick out a bit from the back of the plaque. Cut four 1" [2.57 cm] squares of adhesive-backed foam and place two (one layered on top of the other) over each cup hook. |
Step 7 |
Almost done! All that’s left for you to do is to hang the sign, then hang Dad’s barbecue tools from the hooks. |
