Step 1 |
Cut three long lengths from each skein of yarn. |
Step 2 |
Align the ends and tie a knot at one end to hold them together. Tape the knotted end to your working surface. |
Step 3 |
Separate them into three groups then braid the groups until you reach a length that will fit around the outside edge of the top of your tub. Knot the end. |
Step 4 |
Hot glue the braided yarn around the top, outside edge of your tub and trim excess yarn. |
Step 5 |
Cut your recycled cardboard down to 4" [10.2 cm]. |
Step 6 |
Cut a 10" [25.4 cm] length of yarn and an 18" [45.7 cm] length of yarn. Set aside. |
Step 7 |
Wrap yarn from skein around the cardboard piece several times, until you get the desired fullness of your tassel. Cut yarn from skein. |
Step 8 |
Slide the 10" [25.4 cm] piece of yarn between the loops and the cardboard and move up to the top. Tie a knot at the top of the loops. |
Step 9 |
Carefully slide the loops off of the cardboard. Wrap the 18" [45.7 cm] piece around the outside of the loops, about ½" [1.27 cm] from the top knot. Wrap around the tassel a few times and tie a knot in the back. Trim ends and if desired, add a dab of glue to secure ends. |
Step 10 |
Cut the bottom loops open and trim to even tassel strands. |
Step 11 |
Repeat Steps 6-10 for as many tassels as you would like to attach around your tub. |
Step 12 |
