Description

Winton is a traditional range of oil colours, made from moderately priced pigments, formulated for student and amateur artists or more accomplished painters requiring large volumes of colour within moderate cost limits. A high level of pigmentation provides good covering power and tinting strength. While it can't match the superior pigment load of Winsor & Newton Artists' Oil Colour, the Winton range is much stronger than many other artists' quality ranges. Winton uses moderately priced pigments rather than lessening the pigment content to an unacceptable level.

Details:
  • Available in multiple colours
  • 200 mL (6.75 fl. oz.)
  • Gloss finish (gloss level varies by colour)
  • Individually formulated colors
  • Lightfast and permanent
  • Conforms to ASTM D4236
  • Professional quality

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Burnt Sienna as a wash! I love Winsor & Newton's dependability and consistency in oil paints. I often use Winsor & Newton, Burnt Sienna as an underpainting, either landscapes or portraits, the rich warm reddish earth tones come through my works, warming the coolness of my canvases and creating a painterly look.

Date published: 2024-05-26
Rated 5 out of 5 by from The perfect yellow for my newest painting. Great pigment color by itself out of the tube or to mix with other colors. I wanted a soft, more rustic yellow for my painting of a mediterranean seascape and vista. The other yellows would have been too harsh and bright. This Naples yellow was just what my painting desired.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best paint for my masterpieces Great quality of sold paint
Date published: 2024-05-16
Rated 5 out of 5 by from An artist must have pigment. Cerulean blue, in conjunction with ultramarine blue, represent both the warm and cool temperatures in most of my paintings. They both also mix well with Winsor Newton's soft mixing white for holding those warm and cool moments. It's interesting how luminosity, when used naturally in the theme of your painting, can intensify the emotions. Cerulean blue is a must in a painting wanting emotion. Windsor and Newton have created an exceptional product.
