Thermometer end shattered!
Used this today and the end of it shattered. Worst part is I don’t know at what point it shattered, or where the pieces are. Sooooooo now maybe my family is eating glass and hopefully not anything poisonous!!!

Best overall
model was easiest to use, with a sturdy clip and consistent, accurate temperature readings in both boiling water and melted sugar. I found this thermometer to be reliable and easy to clean by hand, with a large helper handle that made it easy to grab even when using high heat.

Timing is the Key
I have made candy over the years and just guessed when it was time to turn the heat off. This year I decided to try peanut brittle. I bought the candy thermometer so I didn't have to guess when it was time to take it off of the stove. I was surprised how well the candy turned out by simply adding the thermometer to my tools of the trade.

Not accurate!
I have used this, by itself, only once and the result was so disastrous, the next time I tried it, I also used my older thermometer for comparison.
By the time my older thermometer reached 300F, this one had not yet reached 200F.
I haven’t tested it again, yet.
