white and gold resin pendant beaded necklace
Step 1 |
Pour some resin into a small silicone cup. Add a few drops of white tint and mix well with a craft stick. Add more if needed. TIP: Wipe the silicone cup with a paper towel to clean. |
Step 2 |
Prop the silicone mold onto a craft stick or two so the top of the mold is slightly elevated. |
Step 3 |
Pour white resin into your mold until it is about 2/3 full. Tap the mold to make sure no air bubbles. |
Step 4 |
Cure the mold under the UV lamp for several minutes until completely cured. Cool for 1-2 minutes. |
Step 5 |
Pour a little more resin into a small silicone cup. Add a few drops of Gold tint and Gold flake filler, then mix well with a craft stick. Add more Gold drops if needed. |
Step 6 |
Pour Gold resin into the mold until full. |
Step 7 |
Repeat Step 4 then demold. |
Step 8 |
Attach a cap to the top of the pendant with e6000® glue. Set aside to dry. |
Step 9 |
Open a jump ring, slide on a lobster clasp and close the jump ring. Set aside. TIP: To open and close a jump ring, simply grasp the jump ring on both sides with chain nose pliers and twist the ring open, from side-to-side. Never pull the jump ring which can cause distortion. |
Step 10 |
Measure and cut 96" [243.8 cm] of transite. Fold the transite in half and attach to a close jump ring with a lark’s head knot. Add a dab of glue to the knot. TIP: To make a lark’s head knot, fold the transite in half. Place the metal connector over the fold. Grab the ends of the transite, bring them up and over the metal connector, then through the fold of the transite. Pull and tighten the knot. |
Step 11 |
Hold the transite ends together and slide on a bead. Push the bead against the jump ring and let the glue dry. TIP: For the rest of the necklace, hold the transite cords together and slide beads into it as if they were one cord. |
Step 12 |
Add about 20" [50.8 cm] of beads to the transite, slide on your resin pendant then repeat the same bead pattern, in the opposite direction, on the other half of the transite. |
Step 13 |
Tie the end to the closed jump ring with the lobster clasp with a secure knot. Thread the excess back through a few beads, then add a generous amount of glue and let dry. Trim excess transite. Share your project photos with #MakeItWithMichaels |
