watercolour bunny card
Step 1 |
Cover your work surface with a disposable covering. |
Step 2 |
Use 9" x 12" [22.8 cm x 30.4 cm] sheet of watercolour paper and fold it in half to create a 4.5" x 12" [11.4 cm x 30.4 cm] card. |
Step 3 |
Place paper on a flat and smooth surface. With painter's tape, create a border around the edges, front, and side of the card. |
Step 4 |
Create the bunny shapes with masking fluid. Apply the masking fluid to the paper with a designer’s round brush size 2, creating multiple bunny shapes.
|
Step 5 |
Allow approximately 30 minutes to dry or until the fluid is no longer tacky to the touch. |
Step 6 |
To create the required shades for this project, mix the following watercolours in a palette in the ratios below using a palette knife or other tool.
|
Step 7 |
Once the masking fluid is dry, dab some clean water onto the front of the card to create a wet surface. |
Step 8 |
Paint the background using a round size 6 brush. Apply the mixed shades one at a time to the wet surface on the paper until the desired effect is achieved. |
Step 9 |
Allow approximately 30 minutes to dry. |
Step 10 |
Once everything is dry, peel up the painter's tape and masking fluid to reveal a clean, white surface. |
