The low profile was nice to have because I was using it to make a dog sweater and the dog's hair is less likely to get stuck on the Velcro. I was concerned that it may not be strong enough, but I was wrong. The Velcro holds firmly.

It definitely is different from traditional Velcro in that it's slim and not at all sharp feeling. I wasn't sure it would work the same, but it definitely does! And it's much easier to sew on.
