triple ring raffia woven earrings
Step 1 |
Measure and cut about 48" [243.84 cm] of raffia. Fold in half to find the centre point. |
Step 2 |
Thread three size connector rings onto one end of the raffia and slide them down to the fold at the centre. |
Step 3 |
Arrange the rings so the smaller ones are inside the larger one and aligned so they are touching in one place, which will be the bottom of your earring. |
Step 4 |
Take the raffia on the right side, weave it over the top of the right ring, under the centre ring then over ring on the left so it is on the left side. Now, take the raffia on the left side, weave it over the top of the left ring, under the centre ring and over the right ring so it is now on the right side. Pull the crisscrossed raffia tight. |
Step 5 |
Repeat Step 4 until raffia is woven all the way around the rings. |
Step 6 |
Tie the ends in a knot on the back. Trim the ends and use hot glue to secure. |
Step 7 |
Carefully open the loop at the end of a fishhook earring, just enough to slide around the top ring, then close the loop. |
Step 8 |
Repeat for a second earring. |
