tie-dye cover-up
Step 1 |
Tie-Dye will stain, so prep a space before you begin. Do this project outside or inside on a well protected surface, and wear gloves (provided in kit) and protective clothing while working with the dye. |
Step 2 |
Choose your tie-dye from the pack and fill the bottles with water according to package instructions. Set aside. |
Step 3 |
Prep your garment by placing it in water and wringing it out. |
Step 4 |
Lay your damp garment flat on your working surface. To create the bulls-eye design, select the place where you want to be the middle of the bulls-eye. Pinch the fabric in that spot and lift. Place a rubber band tightly around your garment just below the pinched section. Add additional rubber bands down the fabric, creating sections, until you get close to the bottom. |
Step 5 |
Now, apply one tie-dye choice to each section of the banded garment. |
Step 6 |
Once your garment is completely dyed, wrap it in the plastic sheet included in the kit and let it dry for 8 hours. |
Step 7 |
Unwrap your garment by cutting the rubber bands and rinse in cold water. Let dry completely. |

Step 9 |
Click "Mirror On" and follow instructions to cut the design from iron-on material with your Cricut® Maker™. Place your neon blue heat transfer vinyl shiny side down on the mat. |
Step 10 |
Next, use your weeder tool to remove all the excess material around and inside your design. You’ll be left with just the reversed design on the clear plastic carrier sheets, which are slightly sticky. |
Step 11 |
Next, place the design on your garment as desired. |
Step 12 |
Place garment on your EasyPress® mat to avoid any heat damage to your surface. |
Step 13 |
Preheat your EasyPress™ to the appropriate temperature for your material and, if needed, adjust the timer. |
Step 14 |
Place the EasyPress® on your design. Start the timer and hold the EasyPress® in place with light pressure until it beeps. |
Step 15 |
Flip the material on the back side of the fabric and apply heat to the back of the design for 15 seconds. This ensures the vinyl sticks even after washing. |
Step 16 |
Remove the film from the vinyl and wear. |
