First time using but it seems to work.
I have never used this before but I think it went well. I used hot water not cold. I use 3 drop in no more then 1.5 oz of water. I wanted it dark so I left it in about 4 minutes. The before picture is in natural light and the after is taken inside using the house light.

This Product Does Not Live Up to its Claims.
The product claims that it will patina Aluminum and it does not work on Aluminum. I returned this product because of that.

Worked like a charm
All I did was use hot water and the solution, it was great! So easy and the results I wanted! I had all silver platters I wanted tarnished looking quickly and in minutes each one was done.
I did it out side and couldn’t be happier. I will try to add my pictures to show you before and after.

Minimal Reaction Pewter
I tried this on pewter to give it a blackened antique look. I soaked the entire piece for 24 hours, but didn't get much blackening. It did turn the silver pewter and slightly darker color with a very light bronze tint, but not much else. I think it might be because pewter is so resistant to corrosion that patina solutions just don't work well on this metal. It's probably good for other metals that it mentions on the packaging, but if you want to use it on pewter you may be a bit disappointed with the result. Also, be aware that this stuff has a strong sulfur odor.

Directions they don't tell you. Patina works great
This product WORKS - but- you must use hot water (as a silversmith i ran out of my liver of sulfur and ran out to michaels to grab this as a last minute rush job) Works great, but i used the liver of sulfur instructions for silversmiths.
Step 1: use either glass or plastic container, fill with hot water (not boiling) i just use the small setting from my keurig coffee machine (1 cup)
Step 2: place items you want patina'd in the water (wear gloves, take a stir stick (or spoon) have BAKING SODA with you on hand.
Step 3: Take this OUTSIDE unless you want your house smelling like rotten eggs the rest of the day
Step 4: Add 1 teaspoon on this patina solution to the water and metal (eg silver or copper) and stir wearing gloves. Your pieces will start to turn black nearly immediately. Depending how dark you want it, leave in mixture 30 seconds - 5 minutes.
Step 5: when you are happy with colour ADD BAKING SODA to the water/patina mix. This neutralizes the patina. It will bubble and then diffuse. Once it settles i dilute with more water then dump. You can also leave mixture until it turns CLEAR without baking soda if you wish, can take a few days, this is then neutralized as well and you can dump down drain or backyard.
Step 6: now either leave your pieces black or use a light sand paper to brush away the tarnish so you can see the details better if you have designs in your work.
Step 7: SEAL piece with protectaclear or renaissance wax.

Did not work as expected
I put an aluminum piece in the solution, and absolutely nothing happened. Left it in for quite some time and there was no change to the piece.
