sweet sugarbelle® gingerbread cookie

It's that time of year again: Gingerbread season! Whether you're making gingerbread from scratch or buying it from a box, you can have fun decorating! The Sweet Sugarbelle® herself, queen of royal icing decorating, has a few tips and tricks to help your gingerbread men and women on their journey to cookie town.
Step 1

Make your go to Gingerbread recipe or, for a simpler project, buy pre-made gingerbread cookies!
TIP: Click here for the Sweet Sugarbelle® gingerbread cookie recipe.

Step 2

After your cookies are done baking, allow them time to cool. While you are waiting, make your royal icing!
TIP: Click here for the Sweet Sugarbelle® royal icing recipe. You'll want your icing to be a toothpaste-like consistency to ensure the icing will be smooth enough to pipe, but stiff enough to hold its shape.

Step 3

Load your royal icing into your piping bottle.

Step 4

Using the no.2 piping tip included with your piping bottles to pipe details onto your gingerbread cookies. Let your royal icing dry.
