summer paper pinwheels
Step 1 |
In a well-ventilated area, spray two light coats of paint onto the clay pots. Set aside to dry. |
Step 2 |
Paint wood dowel(s) white and let dry. |
Step 3 |
Begin with a 12" x 12" [30.5 cm x 30.5 cm] sheet of scrapbook paper. Cut it down to four 6" x 6" [15.25 cm c 15.25 cm] sheets. |
Step 4 |
Turn one 6" x 6" [15.25 cm x 15.25 cm] sheet over, place your ruler diagonally across from one corner to the opposite corner and lightly draw a line connecting the corners. |
Step 5 |
Repeat Step 3 for the other corner so you have a light “X” drawn on the back of your paper. |
Step 6 |
From one corner, cut on the line about halfway to the middle. Repeat for the remaining three corners. |
Step 7 |
Poke a hole in the centre of the paper with a brad and pull up one corner flap. Make a hole in the corner of the flap where it meets the centre. Hold in place and pull the other corner flaps in and make small holes. |
Step 8 |
Insert a brad through the four flaps and the centre; then open the prongs of the brad on the back to hold everything in place. |
Step 9 |
Now, turn your pinwheel over. While holding everything in place, open the prongs of the brad and thread on a button. Take a 3-in-1 plier tool and bend the prongs over the button. |
Step 10 |
Hot glue the button to the dowel. |
Step 11 |
Cut floral foam to fit into the pots, cover with moss and place the pinwheels into the pots. |
