stuffed felt ornament

Soft felt ornaments are a beautiful way to add softer texture to a tree or decorated area. They are also a cute addition to a wrapped gift!

Print Project

Step 1

Draw an ornament onto a piece of paper and cut out the shape.

Step 2

Trace the shape onto a piece of felt, twice, with a pencil. Cut out the two shapes.
TIP: Look closely at the felt and you can see the front side is fuzzier than the back side. Draw your pattern on the backside so the pencil lines do not show.

Step 3

Work with one piece of felt to create a design on the front. Using floss and a beading needle, stitch a design on the front of the ornament. Tie the knots on the back side.
TIP: To enhance the design, slide on seed beads.

Step 4

Cut a piece of ribbon for the ornament hanger. Tie a knot on the open ends and stich the knotted area to the top of the ornament.

Step 5

Lay the matching front and back together and begin to stich around the outside edges. Once you are halfway, tuck in some batting and continue to stich the ornament closed.

Instructions
Step 1

Draw an ornament onto a piece of paper and cut out the shape.

Step 2

Trace the shape onto a piece of felt, twice, with a pencil. Cut out the two shapes.
