Would love this with gray paper!
This drawing pad is a very convenient size with good quality paper. Easy to work with. The only thing I could ask for is that the store carry the same drawing pads with gray paper as well as the pads with white paper.

Quality materials for quality art
These drawing products are perfect for giving children that extra sense of excitement for their art. As a teacher, I love to integrate art into the classroom and children know when they are using good quality materials and it makes them feel as if their art is important. I also love the Michaels nearly always has a good 'two for one' deal which makes it more affordable to give children good quality paper to work on.

Best Drawing Pad
The most significant feature of the Strathmore 400 Series Drawing Pad is the tooth of the paper, which is fine and uniform, giving a smooth yet refined surface that captures your line exactly as you intend it. Also, as a left-handed artist, I appreciate that the coil-spiral binding is at the top of the pad and not on the left side like many others, allowing free access to the pad from the left. Lastly, a word about erasure. The ease of erasure with the Strathmore 400 is a great relief. Just a few quick strokes of an eraser are enough to fully pick up the graphite deposited on the paper by soft pencils, and this has to do with the quality of the manufacture of the paper. Now that I have used this pad, I will not go back to inferior grades of paper to produce my pencil drawings.
