stamped christmas towel
Step 1 |
Draw your image first on a piece of paper using a pencil. |
Step 2 |
When you are happy with it, you can transfer it to the Speedball® Speedy Carve™ block. Scribble your pencil over the back of the pattern, covering the entire area. Now, lay it onto the carving block, right side up, and trace around the lemon and the details to transfer to your block. |
Step 3 |
Follow the directions in the cutter set for carving the design. |
Step 4 |
Now, use an X-ACTO® knife to cut around your design. |
Step 5 |
Before printing, you will want to iron the towel first, so you have a nice smooth surface. |
Step 6 |
Mix a generous amount of the red paint with the fabric medium on your paper plate (or palette paper). Roll the brayer through the paint several times until you have good coverage on the roller. Roll the paint onto the stamp until it is covered then pick up the stamp and lay it on the towel, paint side down, and press firmly all over the stamp back of the stamp. Carefully pick up the stamp. Repeat this step for printing more of your design on the towel. |
Step 7 |
Let the towel air dry for 24 hours, then heat set your designs using an iron and pressing cloth. Do not wash for at least 72 hours. |
