Decorate your home with this trendy mesh and ribbon wreath. Add pops of moss, spiders, and bones to enhance the Halloween theme!

Print Project

Step 1

Pre-cut chenille pipe cleaners in half for ease while working with the mesh and ribbons.

Step 2

To get started, twist a chenille pipe cleaner around the end of the mesh, then attach it to the outside ring of the wire form.

Step 3

Add another chenille pipe cleaner around the next section of mesh about, about 16"-18" [40.64 cm - 45.72 cm] from the first attachment. Now attach this section to the wire form where the sections are divided, making a poof. Continue to bunch, poof and attach the mesh to the wire form working around the outside of the wreath and towards the centre until the roll is gone.
TIP: As you work on adding the mesh, make sure to look at the wreath as a whole so it stays balanced for shape and pattern. Make any adjustments as needed by simply untwisting the chenille pipe cleaners and moving the mesh.

Step 4

Next, mix and layer ribbons around the wreath. Cut two ribbons about 22' [55.88 cm] long. Layer them and fold in the ends making a large loop. Use the chenille pipe cleaner to twist the centre making a bow shape. Pull the loops up and twist the bow into the wreath form. Finish the ends by cutting an angle or a fishtail. Repeat multiple times.
TIP: Another way to add ribbon is to cut a section about 12" [30.48 cm] long. Find the centre and twist a chenille pipe cleaner around it and attach it to the wreath.

Step 5

To determine if you like the overall look of the wreath take a photo and look at the wreath as a while. Make any adjustments, if needed.

Step 6

Now that you have a great base, it is time to make it “spooky”! Tuck some moss in between the ribbons and use hot glue to attach. Allow some moss to drape down from wreath.
TIP: Use a glue stick to push the hot glue and moss into the wreath so you don't burn your fingers.

Step 7

Glue some small spiders and spiderweb around the wreath but do not forget your focal point… a boney spider wired to the base!
